THE METHOD
TO THE MADNESS

DISCOVER

Every project begins by getting close to the heart of the business. Before anything is designed, I step into the world behind the work; what the brand is trying to say, what problem it is trying to solve, what makes it distinct, and why this particular piece of work matters now.

This stage is less about quick answers and more about paying attention. Different clients bring different energies, expectations, and ways of collaborating. Discovering is where that rhythm starts to reveal itself. It is the first layer of understanding how we will work together and what the project truly needs in order to move well.

UNDERSTAND

Strong creative work is built on strong clarity. That is why the brief matters so much. In many ways, this is where half the project is shaped before the visible work even begins.
Through conversation, listening, research, and reference gathering, I begin to understand not only the practical ask, but the deeper context around it.

I value casual, honest conversations with clients because they often reveal what formal documents cannot: how they think, what they respond to, what they are building toward, and what kind of expression feels true to them. A lot of who we are finds its way into what we create.

From there, research expands the picture. I look widely at the brand, its category, its visual landscape, and the tensions around it, then build style scapes and reference systems that help frame the direction with more precision.

CREATE

Once the thinking is grounded, the work begins to take form. This is the stage of translating insight into expression, distilling what has been gathered, identifying the strongest direction, and shaping concepts that feel both intentional and alive.

The process is thoughtful, but never detached. It relies on collaboration, dialogue, and a willingness to refine as the work reveals itself. Feedback is not treated as an interruption to creativity, but as part of it. Through conversation, sketching, ideation, sourcing, refinement, and execution, ideas are developed into forms that can be tested, strengthened, and made more coherent.

Whether digital or physical, each concept is pushed toward a result that feels clear, distinctive, and aligned with the deeper purpose of the project.

IMPLEMENT

Good work does not end at approval.
Implementation is where ideas are carried into their lived form. Refined through review, strengthened through feedback, and prepared to function in the real world. This stage is about making sure the work not only looks right, but lands the way it should.

That often means adjusting, sharpening, and returning to details until both the thinking and the expression feel resolved. And even then, I do not see the process as closed. Creative work should be able to evolve as the brand grows, the audience shifts, or new opportunities emerge.

The goal is never just to make something good once. It is to build something thoughtful enough to keep becoming better over time.
